EMBCAMP’26, organized by IEEE EMBS Turkiye, was successfully held on February 21–22, 2026, hosted by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University.

Organized by IEEE EMBS Turkiye, EMBCAMP’26 was successfully held on February 21–22, 2026, hosted by İzmir Kâtip Çelebi University.
Day one featured keynote talks and panel sessions with distinguished academics and industry experts, offering comprehensive insights into biomedical engineering, AI, and healthcare technologies.
Day two focused on active learning through certified hands-on workshops and training sessions to enhance technical skills. The event concluded with a technical visit, providing practical industry experience and fostering a strong networking environment for all participants.

Our Sesssions at the EMBCAMP’26:
During the two-day event, rich content offered participants the opportunity to exchange information and experiences. In the sessions prepared with multidisciplinary approaches, the participants had the opportunity to follow a wide variety of presentations ranging from scientific studies to industrial solutions and entrepreneurship stories. In addition, the guests had an interactive interaction with the participants in question-and-answer format thanks to the panel organized in the last session.
Day 1 (Saturday, February 21): Experienced Names in the Industry and Panel Session
The first day of EMBCAMP started with scientific opening speeches and hosted distinguished names in the field. The sessions, which were followed with great interest by the participants throughout the day, were as follows:
- Prof. Dr. Aydın Akan (IEEE Turkey EMBS Chair): Delivered the opening speech of the conference, addressing the significance of the event and the activities of IEEE EMBS in Turkey.
- Ali İhsan Kocademir (BIYOTED): Delivered a speech titled “Biomedical in Hospitals: What the Field Taught Us,” sharing his technical field experiences.
- A. Göktuğ Aydın (PMI Turkey President): Addressed the question “Why Do Projects Fail?” and provided a managerial perspective on the topic.
- Hakan Üner (Izmir City Hospital Medical Services Manager): Spoke on “Technology Management in Hospitals,” sharing his deep knowledge and experience in the field.
- Kadir Akman (BIYOTEK General Manager) & Cennet Selcenli (Biomedical Engineer): Presented on “The Role of Biomedical Engineering in Ultrasonography Devices,” detailing device technologies and engineering processes.
Day 2 (Sunday, February 22): Parallel Training Sessions and Closing
The second day of EMBCAMP started with parallel training sessions that offered participants the chance to acquire in-depth knowledge in different fields. After these trainings, which were carried out simultaneously in the first half of the day and followed with great interest by the participants, the program continued with three different sessions.
Serdar Şimşek (PMI Turkey Startup Projects Director): Addressed the critical processes of bringing an idea to life and the importance of project management in the startup world in his session titled “How to Turn Ideas into Projects?”.
Seyit Hamza Çavga (Biomedical Engineer, DTS Digital Technology Service): Provided an in-depth look into biomedical metrology, detailing laboratory setup, accreditation processes, current regulations, report preparation, and traceability.
Samet Ünsal (Co-Founder, Heptapus Group): Conducted an interactive workshop on the CRISP-DM process used in data and AI projects, allowing participants to experience problem definition, data understanding, and decision-making stages through real project scenarios.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Levent Aydın: Explored concepts such as optimization awareness, interdisciplinary communication, ethical awareness, and critical thinking, while addressing AI-based engineering calculations and answering the question “What is not design?”.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hasan Ersöz (Thoracic Surgeon & Entrepreneur) & Arda Özkaymakçı (Architect): Participated in the parallel sessions, sharing their professional insights and experiences with the attendees.
After the company presentation, in which the current developments and vision in the industrial field were shared, the chair was taken over by the President of the IEEE Turkey Branch. This intensive and productive two-day event ended successfully with the closing speech made by the Vice President of the IEEE Turkey Branch.
Okan Ünsal (CORDAMED): Shared his valuable industry experience and vision with the participants during his session.
Prof. Dr. Nizamettin Aydın: Delivered a presentation focused on “Biomedical Signal/Image Processing in Stroke and Infertility Studies.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tunçer Baykaş (IEEE Turkey Section Vice Chair): Delivered an inspiring session as the event approached its closing.
